What In The World Is Zemanta?

By TheAntiHype | April 22, 2008

Hi, I don't remember seeing you here before. If you're new here, welcome. If you despise the hype on the net as much as me & like a laugh, keep up to date with my latest posts by subscribing to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! The Anti Hype

Where do these names come from? Zemanta? I have no idea but it looks like a cool idea.

This post is trying out the service from this new site. It’s a Firefox and Flock plugin that automatically finds links and images to spice up your blog posts.

Does it work? We’ll find out when I’ve finished this post I guess.

I won’t add any links (apart from the link to their site) so anything added is via the Zemanta service. The link I added is in bold - everything else is a link added automatically.

As I’ve been writing this, images and articles have suddenly appeared to the right of my text box (in WordPress admin). Now to be totally honest I don’t know what I’m supposed to do - or if images and links are added automatically.

Ah-ha. Various links, images from Wikipedia and articles (blog posts I guess) are suggested and you just click on the ones you want. Here goes, let’s add a few and see.

We’ll see when I publish - if nothing turns up I’ll come back in to edit and post another article explaining.

Thanks for giving Zemanta a try. I’d just like to mention that our suggestions work best when writing about concrete topics and that your suggestions should improve over time while you blog.

Otherwise, we’d love to hear more of what you think about the product, either at our forum getsatisfaction.com/zemanta or just drop me a mail - jure@zemanta.com

Thanks Jure, I was just testing so when I blog properly I expect to see improvements. It’s really easy to use - so much better than searching for images & links. Great tool. Thanks, Mark

    Thanks Mark.

This is another very useful plugin for helping bloggers create more visually pleasing content for their readers.

On first inspection (haven’t used it yet), it looks pretty straightforward to use, so I would feel confident in recommending that anyone blogging should seriously consider add this tool to their arsenal.

Mark’s last blog post..Potato Salad Par Excellence

Yes, very simple to use, plus it helps with traffic because of the links to other articles and reciprocal visits that generates. Mark
