The Stompernet Stomp

You know I’ve unsubscribed from more lists than most people have ever signed up to.
And yet somehow, someone, somewhere still thinks it is essential I buy into Stompernet.
I’m sure this flooding of inboxes with reminders of it’s imminent relaunch, the bonuses, the time is running out, the countdown, the I’m so successful because of.. – must work or it wouldn’t happen but PLEASE…
GIVE ME A BREAK
I know this isn’t officially email spam because I did double opt-in but let me ask you this…
Did you give your email address to your friends? Was there some unwritten rule that you would communicate about certain issues and not others? Did that include giving your friends the right to pitch you on anything that might make you some money?
I don’t think so. So when I give my details to some guy to get some information about graphics for blogs, I haven’t given him or her the right to pitch me about list building, money making opportunities or scratching my back with a platinum plated stick!!
In my sales background I was taught to find out what the customer wanted and to fulfill that need.
Not a hard concept to grasp. Customer comes into restaurant. Must be hungry. Sell food! He probably doesn’t want a bicycle pump!
MR BIG SHOT AFFILIATE PRODUCT PEDDLAR – I’M SHOUTING AT YOU
“Just because I once signed up to a list of yours that offered a solution to a problem I had at the time it does not mean I wish to bombarded with emails about every product you hear about that might make you some money”
Most of you have just lost me for life.
You need to go back to basics guys. The hardest part of any business is finding a customer. Once you have one, treat them with respect, treat them as a person not some faceless clown or a meal ticket.
Stompernet may be outstanding. I have no idea and I’m not going to find out because you lot have alienated me to it.
Am I cutting off my AntiHype nose to spite my face with this?
Does anyone else feel the same way?
I am sick of being pitched the same thing 10, 20, 30 times a day – and when those pitches come thick and fast from guys I previously respected…
I’m off to ask Homer his opinion!

Stompernet seems to be all ANYONE is talking about these days. And for all the blog posts I’ve skim read about it, I still have NO IDEA what it is or does. LOL.
As for your actual point. Yes, there is a fine line there between making good use of a list and abusing the trust of those who signed up.

Me neither!! The saturation is such a turn off for me I’m probably missing out on the greatest product ever – sorry, I remember from last time, greatest expensive product ever! Thanks for your thoughts Mark

Yes, Mark I agree. No reflection on Stompernet because I have found the company to be perhaps one of the better customer orientated, but a lot of people who buy into these programs ultimately find that they need to spend a lot of time learning.
Of course they thought they had a yellow brick road, but then realise they cannot walk it in one day.
However you only realise this of course when you start out on the journey, and when you’ve been left behind in something else, you are unwilling to start on the road until you feel better prepared.
I’m not ready nor have I the time to spend hundreds of dollars on Stompernet, but like you I don’t want it shoved down my throat every few minutes. It’s my own fault of course. Subscriptionitis and the dreaded JV epidemic (the affiliate promoters who swap lists).
Mark’s last blog post..Mushrooms
The issue as I see it is that the product provider gets tainted by some of the people trying to sell the product. That must be damaging in the long run. In particular, as you point out, if you buy into something expecting utopia only to find another massive learning curve who really wins? Great points you raise, thanks. Mark

Know what you mean. I have half a dozen a**holes trying to flog me Stompernet. I checked it out. Slick videos. Too slick. Targeted to dreamers. With just the same old bull*hit. Pass the Kool-Ade.
I’m sure Stompernet itself is a great product. Well produced videos, nice looking site BUT very high price and not for everyone. The problem is the number of people pushing it! I now have another product being forced on me by every man and his dog. Russell Brunson has a new product. I’m sick of it already and haven’t even looked at his site!! This new launch frenzy is a 100% turn off for me. Mark

I too am bombarded with Stompernet’s new repackaging of an older product.
The JV of these so called top 5 guru’s gives you the same product with their own ” bonus” added.
Hype is all it is, and they all do it while patting each other on the back. By the time you buy a “new” repackaged old idea, you have to have another product (send more money) join a monthly forum, get in on the telephone calls where you can’t ask questions, and like Homer are no further ahead.
Yet still with this economy the guru’s bank that there are sufficient vulnerable “suckers” out there that have yet ventured into this money funnel.
PS. I have stomped on all the emails – by unsubscribing from all the lists and concentrate on my own business – not financing theirs.
WARNING: if any of your readers download a
“free” program, from these guru’s I will not mention any names – do not do it. They are insidious and you cannot remove portions of the programs which turn out to be useless.
Great post Mark.

Yes, I received at least 25 pitches today on stompernet. I am sick of this nonsense too. Enough is enough with these so called gurus sending out multiple messages on a daily basis.
It they think this product is so great, they should go ahead and buy it, they can afford it. But leave me alone already.

I’m amazed that I got pitches from [people I’d never heard of! Must have subscribed for something at some time and now, with no idea who I am, they “know” I need this product. These guys are in danger of alienating their whole lists. At least it’s a nice thought but I guess people will buy through them and they’ll never know hoow we feel. Thanks for your comment Diana. This sounds like me, i spent some time unsubscribing again from many lists,
wonder who made the affiliate money?
i am going to change emails to gmail and feed them all into spam
seems email blasting is still the order of the day
Me too. I’ve had a habit over the past week of unsubscribing from everything!! Like you, some affiliate marketers have picked up commission from me yet I have no idea who they were and they’ve added nothing to my life – apart from using up hard drive!! Mark

I just love that picture about the BOZO clown…
it is so appropriate for the guru’s out there.
I just checked an email address I do not use very often and there was 18 emails from the same guru, he was spamming me 3 x a day?
They are getting desperate aren’t they?
An article on Guru desperation during hard economic times? perhaps.
Teris’s last blog post..Pet Pampering Hotels for Dogs and Cats
Perhaps you’re the only one on his list??
Desperate Gurus – I may have to run with that one. Thanks Teri. Mark
