Word Press Backups
By TheAntiHype | February 5, 2008
One video missing from the series on how to get set up using WordPress is, in my opinion, on the most important subject – BackUps.
Sexy, no. Interesting, no. Must have, yes.
If you don’t back-up your blog and a disaster befalls you you’ve lost everything.
Now I hate this type of admin. – time consuming & boring and another item on the To Do list. So as usual I’ll search out an easy solution.
It’s a free WordPress plugin called – WP DB BackUp – as I say not a sexy subject so I guess we couldn’t expect a more exciting title!
Simply download the plugin. Extract everything and upload the php file to your WordPress blog.
Then activate the plugin (you’ll find it under Plugins).
Now go to Manage – set up a few minor items and you can do an immediate backup which can be emailed to you AND set up a daily backup, which again will be emailed to you.
Something else crossed of the To Do list.
