Fast Action Bonus - Why Bonuses Are Bad For Your Wealth

By TheAntiHype | March 5, 2008

Hi, I don't remember seeing you here before. If you're new here, welcome. If you despise the hype on the net as much as me & like a laugh, keep up to date with my latest posts by subscribing to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! The Anti Hype

“Fast Action Bonus” - “Get Your First Mover Advantage”

I’ve no time to talk to you guys today - I have to collect whatever the bonuses are that have hit my inbox. I thought I’d waiting-for-news.jpg unsubscribed from most lists but from somewhere I’ve been bombarded with emails about a product which I’m sure I’ll die without.

Sorry, I can’t tell you what it’s called - it didn’t register, in fact nor did any of the sales letters themselves so I can’t even tell you what the product is BUT…

What caught my attention was that there is a growing trend in out-bonusing (another Guru-Fodder term). You know,

“buy from me and I’ll give you my worthless e-book.” And…

“Buy from my link and I’ll send you my regurgitated e-book, some Private Label Rights to something I haven’t even looked at but it’s worth at least $97.” And…

“I don’t care what the product is, (it must be great though because they’ll pay me 50% commission) and I don’t know what these bonuses are but there’s 25 of them in this list - they’re really cool and your business will be made even though I know you’ll never look at them - just like me when I downloaded them for free - but you must act today.” Why?…

“Er, well, er, I know. Because this product is so brilliant and it could be sold to 10 million people who really need it but to maintain it’s integrity only 100 copies will ever be sold”

So what has agitated me today is that I’ve had virtually the same email 5 times (at least two did make some effort and changed some of the text) and each one has tried to sell the course / program whatever it is - by promoting the bonuses as the main attraction!

Now, is that because the program is not good?

err...Personally, I’ve bought books / courses in the past, probably influenced by the bonuses, but haven’t even looked at the extras.

In fact, I’d go as far as saying sometimes the product itself gets mixed up with the bonuses downloaded and after a day or two I’ve forgotten what was “free” and what it was that was about to change my life! Confusion rules!

So, no matter how good the product the bonus has damaged my wealth because I’ve spent money but done nothing with the product.

To be successful in buying only what is necessary AND what will be used you must be disciplined. You must ONLY EVER buy when you know you need something. Decide what you need to know, what you need for your business, research and only then buy.

Internet Marketing has become like the supermarket. You walk in wanting some bread and come out with 20 items because they were on offer. Do you need them? Do you really want them? I doubt it but the “offer” was too good to be true.

How many times do you hear “it was on special offer”?

But Mum you don’t like… “I know but it was so cheap I had to buy it!”

My rule now is to only buy a product based on the value and use of the product to me. I’ll live without the bonuses thank you.

And Mr Bad Guru…

If you have really sold out in the next 10 minutes, before I get to your website I won’t be calling The Samaritans.

Let me know - What was the worst bonus you ever received or was offered. I’d love to hear your stories.
